New Feature: Lock Controls

· Posted by Peldi in Products · 2 Comments

A few of you have asked for it, and I finally got around to implementing it: you can now lock controls in place in Balsamiq Mockups.

This is especially useful if you have a large control in the background, like a Window or a Browser Window.

The feature is implemented a-la Illustrator, with a quick way to lock controls (CTRL+2, APPLE+2 or the new lock icon in the property inspector) and a way to Unlock all the locked controls (CTRL+ALT+2 or APPLE+ALT+2, or "Unlock All" in the Edit menu).

The new feature is already live in Mockups for Confluence, the demo version here on this site and the 1.1 alpha of Mockups for Desktop.

  1. Of course, duh. Thanks Michael, it’s fixed now.

  2. Since all the rest of the property panel’s editing controls are repeated up on the top menu strip, it’d probably good to add the Lock icon up there as well. Right now, on build 1.1.128 of the desktop version, the Lock icon appears only on the properties panel, which creates a subtle inconsistency.
