Hi friends, happy new year!
While we work on a couple of BIG features (Cropping/masking for images, groups and Symbols, a new wireframing skin and Mockups for iPad), we are staying focussed on quality / bug fixes / test and back-office automation.
With that in mind, here's what's in today's release:
IMPORTANT: if things look wonky in the myBalsamiq editor or in the web demo version, please clear your browser cache and reload the page.
If you're using myBalsamiq, you're already updated. Just log back in and enjoy.
For other versions, simply install from our download page on top of your current installation. You won't have to re-register.
As always, if you hit any snags with the new build let us know immediately and we'll fix it right up! 🙂
For posterity, these are the version numbers of today's release:
In other news, we're a few days away from hitting $10,000,000 in total Mockups sales since launch (June 19th, 2008)...WOW! Who'd have thunk it! 😉
Our newest baby myBalsamiq is also doing well, it already made around $11,000 in December. Not bad for its first full month of being public, very encouraging! 🙂
We also posted a little blog post about Our Donation Policy. Check it out, 2% of our profits go to charity each year. It's the right thing to do.
Jan 17th UPDATE: I just did a quick release today to fix this bug.

Wow, thanks for the Update. I just noticed that i can update the desktop version by myself 😉
Well some things look a little bit different especially grouped items from the mockups to go. But that’s okey, i’ll have to adjust them.
Thanks and keep up the good work!
P.S. I also highly appreciate Android Mockups by balsamiq. (There are some available: https://market.android.com/search?q=balsamiq&c=apps)
I like better the old style, it was more “hand draw”. Maybe you change with a mix of old and new style?
Congratulations on the new release. It’s much appreciated. Keep up the pace of innovation. However, despite the new release, I’m still very disappointed with your software. The biggest reason for your software’s success is its ease of use. But it’s that exact reason that’s hold it back. It’s TOO simple for complex projects. The biggest beef I have with your software is lack of interaction. Just provide simple interaction at the very least. I know that is a heated topic around here and the reasons against it have been thoroughly discussed and they are valid. I, however, think the criticism is incredibly short sighted and counter productive. I hope you’ll reconsider.
[Peldi: it sounds to me that Mockups is not the right solution for you. Maybe you should look for a tool that focuses on prototyping instead? There are some listed on http://www.balsamiq.com/products/mockups/manifesto#noproto%5D
Any plans to include UI controls for tablets/ipad/android? It would be extremely helpful! Oh yeah, thanks for the superb product. You have no idea how much your product brightens up my product management days!!
[Peldi: Hi Germaine, take a look here: https://mockupstogo.mybalsamiq.com – it’s full of extra symbol libraries!]
With the release of Mockups for IPad coming will we also see Mockups for Android tablets?
[Peldi: Hi Tony, we do not currently have plans to create a Mockups for Android. I was told that there are a couple of applications on the Android marketplace that are compatible with Mockups but I haven’t looked into it yet.]
